Abstract

This research paper presents an analytical study of contemporary scholarship on Shama'il al-Rasul (the Prophetic Attributes), focusing on the critical evaluation of modern literature and pedagogical methodologies. The study systematically examines a diverse range of primary and secondary sources, including contemporary books, academic dissertations, research journal articles, and educational curricula. Despite the extensive volume of literature available, the discourse often faces significant academic and instructional challenges.

The primary objective of this paper is to identify the existing research gaps in the contemporary Shama'il discourse and to analyze the pedagogical issues encountered in teaching this discipline within modern educational frameworks. Through a qualitative and descriptive-analytical approach, the research highlights that while traditional accounts remain central, there is a pressing need for a more integrated and contextualized methodology in modern textbooks and academic research. The paper discusses how current teaching strategies often lack the necessary depth to bridge the gap between historical narrative and contemporary application.

Furthermore, the study proposes a comprehensive strategic framework (action plan) to address these challenges. It suggests a multifaceted approach involving the modernization of curricula, the adoption of interdisciplinary research techniques, and the development of innovative teaching modules that resonate with the contemporary mind. By identifying the limitations in current academic works, this paper paves the way for a more robust and intellectually rigorous engagement with the Shama'il literature. The findings aim to serve as a roadmap for researchers, curriculum developers, and educators to enhance the quality of Prophetic studies in the 21st century.
