This article explores the religious dimensions reflected in the reading of Youssef Zidan’s novel Azazeel. It argues that literary works often embody deep theological, cultural, and ritual influences rooted in religious traditions. The study is divided into two main parts: the first examines doctrinal themes such as baptism, debates on the divinity of Christ, attitudes toward monasticism, and ethical respect for differing beliefs, while the second focuses on religious practices including prayer, scriptural recitation, retreat, charity, and communal worship. The research demonstrates that Azazeel presents a rich portrayal of both primary and secondary Christian beliefs, devotional practices, and historical religious cultures. It concludes by suggesting further specialised studies on doctrinal, philosophical, historical, and social aspects within the novel.
